The guidelines set out by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) are a regulatory body that also needs to be considered when viewing safety in the workplace. The OSHA assures the safety of workers by setting and enforcing standards and training and educating employers on safety. The issues set out in General Requirements 1910.22 applies to "all permanent places of employment, except where domestic, mining, or agricultural work only is performed". Section 1910.22(a) (1) clearly states, "all places of employment, passageways, storerooms, and service rooms shall be kept clean and orderly and in a sanitary condition."
The OSHA standards make it apparent that "employers have the primary responsibility for protecting the safety and health of their workers". This continues to Section 1910.22(a)(2) to implement, "the floor of every workroom shall be maintained in a clean and, so far as possible, a dry condition. Where wet processes are used, drainage shall be maintained, and false floors, platforms, safety mats, or other dry standing places should be provided where practicable". The workplace mats available at XpressMats all comply with the regulations set out by the OSHA and would assist employers in abide by these required regulations.
